"I'm buying!"
Pros: SLI graphics, 1TB Performance RAID 0 storage, Dual core Extreme HT CPU, and fast memory is available.
Cons: Dell limits your maximum memory build-options to two gigabytes. If your into VMware this limits the number of virtual machines you can run simultanesously @ the recomended minimum 512mb per machine.
Summary: Got to have the 24 inch UltraSharp monitor.
Can't decide wheter to spread the two gigabytes of memory accross four Dimms for performance or to spread the two gigabytes accross just two of the Dimms for after market growth reasons.
Dell needs to provide dedicated telephone sales support just for their XPS customers. I need more pampering

I think I am going to call my new game-station "Moana" because she sure makes lot of noises. More so than the reviews I previously read indicated. She moaned and growned so loud last nite that I had to shut her down. I think she even snores in standby mode. I'm going to give her another chance tonight to straighten up, else its lites out again (power down).
Perhaps I was just feeling fussing about the snafu with my broken LCD diplay on the control-pod of my 500 watt Logitech sound system.
The Logitech Z5500 500 Watt 5.1 Digital Sound system is very sharp looking, sound good too, but the LCD display on the "Control Pod" was fritzed-out and arrived in a non-functional state. Dell can't replace it yet because all 7 packages comprising that particular order number have not arrived yet, so in their words, my sound system has not yet officially arrived and therefore they can't fix it (yet). Customer Care contends it has to officially be marked as shipped before they will fix it. I think one of the packages is that particular order number is backordered until October 10th (surge protector/power strip)
Oh and that 500 watts sound system is really 500 RMS watts and 1000 peak watts. So the 500 RMS watts will divide between the five satellites speakers and the sub-woofer. Where the satelites will typically eat about 67 RMS watts each. So that's (6 X 67watts) to the satellites with the remaining balance of the power (500 RMS watts) going to the subwoofer. The system sounds great, and the speakers can be hung to the ceiling or walls and they look great on my desk too.Updated
I think I am going to call my new game-station "Mona" because she sure makes a lot of noises when the house is quiet. More so than the reviews I previously read would have indicated. She moaned and groaned so loud last night I thought about shutting her down. I think she was even snoring in standby mode too. I got over it eventually though.
I will put up with her short comings because with that 24inch display ((its 24 measured on the diagonal)) she is a real beauty, and with her Extreme CPU and SLI graphics, shes a stellar performer too! So maybe I'll say to my self, so what if she snores, she rocks me when I'm awake!
Oh and that 500 watts Logitech sound system is really just 500 RMS watts and 1000 peak watts. So the 500 watts specification as advertised is really divided between the five satellites speakers and the sub-woofer. The satellite speakers typically eat about 67 RMS watts of power each. So that's (6 X 67watts) to the satellites with the remaining balance of the power going to the subwoofer. The system sounds really great, and the speakers can be pivoted on their stands and then hung by hole in these stands to your ceiling or walls, but for now they just look simply great on my desk.
Overall, so far, and after just one day and night, I still like Mona. I think Ill keep this one.

It seems the Dell factory or was it the nVIDIA factory set the default "SLI rendering mode" out-of-the-box to "SLI single-GPU rendering". Oh, it came set for "Enable SLI multi-GPU" but none the less rendering was occurring on just one of my GPUs. I was poking around in the nVIDIA advanced configuration settings and saw that my SLI rendering mode was set to single-GPU rendering. When I reset the SLI rendering mode to "SLI multi-GPU rendering" the machine (Mona) became quite. It's as if I am now load-balancing the heat dissipation accross both GPUs hence their fans work less and she (Mona) is remarkably more quiet.
Hey, she was really moaning, but now I think she feels much better and I like her much better too.
Just because your SLI mult-GPU is set to "Enable SLI multi-GPU" doesn't mean your rendering will occur accross both GPUs. If you think your Dell XPS 600 gaming machine seems louder than you think it should sound, check your nVIDA's advanced settings and give it a try . You can always switch it back. Good Luck

Having too much memory can actually reduce performence, so I wouldn't see stuck with 2 Gigs max as a con.
